Job summary

Phoenix Children’s Hospital is seeking an Infant Development Coordinator to coordinate and implement HRPP developmental care activities, focusing on growth of high‑risk infants and guiding families in their understanding of infant development.

The role collaborates with NICU staff to develop individualized care plans, monitors developmental status, and supports staff training to ensure family‑centered care. A background in neonatal development and program leadership is essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a healthcare related field required.
  • Master's degree in a healthcare related field required.
  • Two years of clinical neonatal experience required.
  • Two years of program supervision and development experience required.
  • Teaching or mentoring adults preferred.
  • NIDCAP certification obtained within 2 years of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and implement activities of HRPP focusing on developmental aspects of infants’ growth.
  • Collaborate with the patient care team and parents to formulate developmentally supportive care strategies.
  • Develop goals for care strategies to contribute to treatment objectives.
  • Screen infants and families for developmental needs and partner with parents for individualized plans.
  • Represent HRPP developmental care requirements in annual/quarterly reports and meetings.
  • Review and develop NICU developmental care policies and guidelines.
  • Plan, implement and evaluate staff education programs for family-centered care.
  • Contribute to quality improvement projects and NICU research.
  • Maintain clinical competency through ongoing education.
  • Review current literature to improve NICU care for high‑risk populations.
