Job summary

Phoenix Children’s Hospital, Inc. is seeking a Developmental Programs Coordinator to lead the High-Risk Perinatal Program in the Phoenix NICU. You will work with families and the patient care team to promote growth and development in high-risk infants.

The role emphasizes education, policy development, and quality improvement, with requirements including a bachelor’s degree in a healthcare field and neonatal experience. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Phoenix.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare related field. Required.
  • Masters’ degree in a healthcare related field. Preferred.
  • Two years of clinical experience in the neonatal field. Required.
  • Two years of experience with program supervision and program development. Preferred.
  • Teaching or mentoring experience with adult learners. Preferred.
  • Newborn Individualized Developmental Care and Assessment Program (NIDCAP) certification obtained within 2 years of hire. Required.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate developmental care strategies with the NICU care team and families.
  • Collaborate to set goals for care strategies designed to contribute positively to treatment objectives.
  • Screen infants and families for developmental needs with the care team and parents.
  • Represent HRPP developmental care requirements, including reports, meetings, and related duties.
  • Review and develop policies, procedures, and guidelines for developmental care with NICU staff.
  • Assist in planning, implementing, and evaluating staff education and in-service programs.
  • Maintain the NICU developmental care program’s integrity through research and quality improvement projects.
  • Maintain professional competency through ongoing education and literature reviews.
  • Perform miscellaneous job duties as requested.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare related field
