Job summary

Sources, a community-based non-profit, seeks an Infant Development Consultant to join the Infant Development Program in Newton. The role provides family-centered developmental services to birth-to-three families, including assessment, planning, home visits and referrals.

Ideal candidates hold a bachelor’s degree in psychology, education, child and youth care or related discipline, a valid Class 5 license and own vehicle. The position is 35 hours/week, ASAP start, ending March 31, 2027.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in psychology, education, child and youth care or related discipline.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and own vehicle.
  • Strong desire to learn and advance developmental, assessment and service delivery skills.
  • Strong understanding of community-based, family-centered services.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organization and time management.
  • Trauma-informed, culturally safe services for all clients.

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct and indirect services for the designated caseload.
  • Assists families in identifying and supporting the needs of the child and family.
  • Supports families in accessing appropriate materials and resources as required.
  • Ensures client files and other documentation are kept accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Engages in ongoing learning in relation to practice standards, the community and the organization.
  • Creating and maintaining a safe and welcoming environment within the organization, and addressing any instances of discrimination, harassment or other forms of harmful behaviour that don’t support the principals of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belongingness and perspectives and applying this knowledge to your work.
