Job summary

Wonderspring seeks an Infant Assistant Teacher to support the Lead Teacher in a nurturing infant classroom at the New Market West Center. This role focuses on implementing daily plans, supervising children, and maintaining routine in a relationship-based environment.

You will assist with activities, participate in behavior guidance strategies such as FLIP IT and Second Step, and document each child’s progress for families. Must obtain required clearances and TB health assessment before starting.

Qualifications

• Requires a High School Diploma or GED.
• 2+ years of experience working with infants/toddlers preferred.
• Must obtain all required clearances and complete a Health Assessment with TB screening prior to employment.
• Strong teamwork and flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Support the Lead Teacher in implementing daily lesson plans, learning activities, and classroom routines.
• Supervise children in your care.
• Assume the lead teacher's classroom responsibilities in their absence.
• Assist with all tasks associated with the daily schedule.
• Teach children how to use acceptable alternatives to challenging behavior using approaches like FLIP IT and Second Step.
• Observe, document, and celebrate each child's progress and share victories with parents.
