Job summary

The Y is hiring an Assistant Infant Teacher in Maine to support Lead Teacher in an Enrichment Program. You will supervise infants, foster development, and build strong relationships with children and families in a nurturing setting.

Ideal candidates have experience with young children, know the Maine guidelines, and hold CPR/First Aid certifications. Background checks and official training must be completed within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young children and familiarity with early childhood practices.
• Must be at least 18 years old and pass Maine background checks.
• CPR/First Aid/AED certifications required within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a group of infants in the Enrichment Program, ensuring safety at all times.
• Create a nurturing learning environment supporting cognitive, social, and physical development.
• Communicate positively with children and caregivers; engage through play and routines.
• Model positive behavior and support emotional development and learning styles.
• Support mealtime safety and engagement; address individual needs respectfully.
