Qualifications

• High school diploma; up to 2 years welding experience.
• Read and understand shop orders, blueprints, safety rules and standard work instructions.
• Ability to read weld symbols.
• Able to use hand tools safely and read a tape measure.
• May be required to operate forklift, overhead crane, and electric pallet jack.

Responsibilities

• Use standard work instructions and blueprints when available.
• Visually inspect weld quality.
• Fabricates and assembles metal structures.
• Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal, or overhead).
• Fabricates and assembles metal structures.
• Perform efficient welding of various metal objects with help of gas torch and welder.
• Rework and/or repair welded parts and products according to engineering specification changes.
• Complete run out checks.
• Fit wheels and fans with limited supervision.
• Maintain weld machines using preventative maintenance methods.
• Maintains good housekeeping and clean work areas in assigned space.
