Job summary

Franklin Water Treatment is seeking an Industrial Water Service Technician to install, commission, and maintain industrial water treatment equipment at customer facilities in the Greater Indianapolis area.

You will perform inspections, test water quality, troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, and complete preventive maintenance while documenting activities and communicating with customers and internal teams.

Qualifications

Role Description

The Industrial Water Service Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in the Greater Indianapolis area. This role is responsible for installing, commissioning, and maintaining industrial water treatment equipment and systems at customer facilities. Day-to-day tasks include performing routine inspections, testing water quality, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, and completing preventive maintenance to ensure optimal system performance. The technician will document service activities, maintain accurate records, and communicate clearly with customers and internal teams about system status, repair needs, and recommended improvements. The role also involves following safety procedures, adhering to regulatory requirements, and supporting project work such as equipment upgrades or new installations.

Qualifications

• Technical and mechanical skills: Ability to work with pumps, valves, piping, filtration equipment, chemical feed systems, and related industrial water treatment components.
• Diagnostic and troubleshooting skills: Experience identifying and resolving mechanical, electrical, and process issues in field service environments.
• Water treatment and quality skills: Knowledge of industrial water treatment processes, water testing methods, and basic chemistry related to water quality.
• Organizational and documentation skills: Ability to maintain service logs, complete work orders, follow schedules, and use digital tools for reporting.
• Communication and customer service skills: Capacity to explain technical information clearly, collaborate with team members, and provide professional on-site support to customers.
• Safety and compliance awareness: Commitment to safe work practices, use of PPE, and adherence to company policies and industry regulations.
• Education and experience: High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or vocational training in industrial maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, or related fields preferred.
• Additional qualifications: Valid driver’s license, ability to travel locally within Greater Indianapolis, capability to lift and move equipment as needed, and willingness to participate in on-call or overtime work when required.
