Job summary

The Haskell Company is seeking a Senior Preconstruction Leader to guide all preconstruction activities across markets. You will ensure accurate scoping, competitive pricing, and strong client collaboration to position projects for success before construction begins.

You will lead a team, shape strategy, manage budgets and risk, and drive continuous improvement through metrics, digital tools, and data-driven decision making.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in accredited construction related curriculum.
• 12 years of experience in construction, or 16 years of relevant experience.
• Water and Wastewater Preconstruction experience.
• CMAR and Design Build knowledge.
• Self Perform and Client Facing background.
• Commitment to client service.
• Strong leadership ability.
• Proven interpersonal skills.
• Problem-solving capabilities.
• Knowledge of contracts and project accounting.
• Ability to understand owner/engineer requirements with minimal information.
• Knowledge of construction materials, market conditions and trade practices.
• Strong computer skills with preconstruction software tools.
• Detailed, deadline oriented and well-organized.

Responsibilities

• Develops the Precon group strategy, vision, and business planning process.
• Aligns Preconstruction with Market goals and client needs.
• Drives pursuit strategy and win planning.
• Coordinates, manages, and trains preconstruction staff.
• Mentors preconstruction leadership and teams.
• Maintains client relationships and leads proposals/presentations.
• Oversees cost models and budgets during development/bidding.
• Ensures accurate and competitive estimates.
• Drives risk management and contingency development.
• Supports buyout and early execution in projects.
• Leads adoption of digital estimating tools and data-driven decisions.
• Travel 10–25% for proposals and events.
