Job summary

The Blackfoot Company is seeking a Wastewater Pretreatment Coordinator to administer the City’s pretreatment and spill prevention program. Responsibilities include inspections, sampling, testing, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

The role involves collaboration with facility managers and city staff, preparing reports, and providing program information to the public. Candidates should have relevant chemistry/technical training and wastewater-related experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; college-level chemistry courses or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in wastewater or water laboratory settings preferred; or any equivalent combination of experience.

Responsibilities

• Monitors, samples, and tests designated commercial/industrial waste discharge for regulatory compliance.
• Schedules and conducts sampling inspections; maintains records and files.
• Issues notices of noncompliance and related reporting; responds to inquiries from staff and public.
• Maintains equipment inventory and prepares/updates discharge permits and compliance procedures.
• Engages with industry stakeholders to explain programs and assist in setting up pretreatment/spill prevention plans.
