Job summary

Sandalwood is seeking a Hardware Engineer to own the hardware foundation of our next-generation industrial vision products, including Sight.IQ. You will guide hardware decisions from concept to deployment, collaborating with vision engineers, software, controls, and IT teams to build reliable, scalable, and production-ready platforms.

Qualifications

• Requires strong hardware design and integration capabilities for vision systems.
• Ability to work across hardware, software, controls, and IT teams.
• Experience with environmental and regulatory compliance is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end camera and vision system hardware specifications for inspection stations.
• Select camera resolutions, lenses and imaging components based on application.
• Perform FOV calculations, working-distance analysis and lighting evaluations.
• Evaluate and qualify industrial camera vendors and products for manufacturing environments.
• Manage hardware BOMs for repeatable deployment across facilities.
