Job summary

Kent State University in Kent, OH is seeking a Vehicle and Equipment Mechanic for an internal posting. Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
Twelve to eighteen months formal training or equivalent.
Minimum of two years’ experience in a variety of equipment and vehicle repairs.
Must provide all basic tools for the position.

Responsibilities

Tests, maintains and repairs engines and sub-systems (gasoline, gaseous, and diesel fuel systems).
Tests, maintains and repairs hydraulic and sub-systems (pumps, cylinders, valves, control systems).
Tests, maintains and repairs ac/dc electrical and sub-systems.
Maintains documentation and records of inspections, maintenance, and repairs.
Maintains inventory of parts, supplies, and tools.
May train/lead student or junior staff; participates in training new employees.
