Job summary

The Utility Maintenance Tech at Shamrock Foods Company will verify utilities including fluid coolers, boilers, chillers, air units and refrigeration units are in spec and operating properly. They will perform preventive maintenance and respond to equipment issues to keep production running.

This role requires 2-5 years in refrigeration, HVAC or boiler systems, knowledge of steam/pressure systems, and the ability to work in cold or hot environments, evenings or weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or GED.
• 2-5 years experience in refrigeration, HVAC or boiler systems in manufacturing.
• Knowledge of steam and pressure systems.
• Forklift/scissor lift certification or willingness to obtain.
• Fluency in English, reading and writing.
• Self-driven and motivated to grow.
• Able to work in cold and wet environments and various temperature zones.
• Flexible to evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Verify utilities equipment meets specifications and operates properly; perform preventive maintenance.
• Test water samples and adjust chemical makeup as needed.
• Inspect equipment for pump, seal or motor failures and render maintenance as required.
• Work with glycol heat transfer system; maintain and check for issues.
• Maintain Trane chiller units; keep within temperature parameters.
• Maintain air handler systems and the unit’s components to ensure operational status.
• Maintain fluid cooling towers; monitor flow levels, temperature and sump levels.
• Maintain steam system including boiler, DA Tank, condensate return pumps.
• Ensure regular and reliable attendance.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
