Job summary

Kaleidoscope is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to join a multi-disciplinary team designing custom industrial refrigeration and gas compression equipment. You will perform calculations, select components, and build documentation to meet project requirements while supporting project engineers.

Required: Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and 2+ years of engineering experience; proficiency with AutoCAD or similar 2D CAD; ability to travel 5-10%. Location: Milwaukee, WI.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
• 2+ years of engineering experience.
• Experience with AutoCAD or similar 2D CAD software.
• Ability to travel 5-10%.

Responsibilities

• Review compression system design for compliance with engineering principles, standards, contracts and specifications.
• Review and interpret codes and standards (ASME, CRN, NFPA, AWS, IBC, etc.) for system compliance.
• Make system component selections while generating a P&ID and consult with Mechanical Design Engineers.
• Conduct calculations, design reviews with production, and develop custom documentation for project execution.
• Review and approve production drawings, recommending design changes to reduce costs or improve production efficiency.
• Prepare specifications for custom equipment and work with procurement to obtain quotations.
• Participate in multi-functional teams to improve processes and methods.
