Job summary

U.S. Pacific Fleet seeks a Professional Engineer to review projects and ensure compliance with codes and new developments in industrial processes and equipment.

You will analyze demands, capacities, environmental/safety criteria, and maintenance needs, and perform detailed engineering studies on manufacturing systems including gas/ liquid flow, heat transfer, piping, and structural assembly. Qualifications

• At least one year of specialized engineering experience at GS-11 or equivalent as a Professional Engineer.
• Experience in design, installation, maintenance, operations, or evaluation of systems to solve problems and furnish technical advice.
• Education or experience in the DoD/government or private/public sector accepted.

Responsibilities

• Review projects, plans, codes, and developments in industrial processes and equipment.
• Analyze system demands, capacities, operational parameters, environmental/safety criteria, and maintenance requirements.
• Perform detailed engineering studies, tests, and evaluations of manufacturing systems (gas/liquid flow, heat transfer, piping, structural assembly, stress analysis, system performance).
• Prepare manufacturing drawings, calculations, specifications, and advise engineers/technicians in design and review of facilities and equipment.
• Plan and coordinate addition, renovation, and alteration to facilities and equipment.

Education

Professional engineering degree (ABET-accredited)

EI/EIT or PE licensure

FE examination or equivalent
