Job summary

Atlantic Constructors Inc. in the Mid-Atlantic region seeks a Steel Estimator to provide complete estimates for industrial projects, modular fabrication, and select commercial work. You'll review documents, solicit quotes, and coordinate with in-house trades.

The role requires 2+ years in estimating pre-construction and 5+ years in structural steel, plus proficiency with Tekla PowerFab, Fabtrol or Fabsuite, and a solid grasp of AWS D1.1. You must work well in a team and meet deadlines.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of estimating in Pre-Construction or equivalent.
• 5+ years of structural steel/miscellaneous metals experience.
• Experience with Tekla, Fabtrol, or Fabsuite in estimating.
• Strong knowledge of AWS D1.1 and steel fabrication basics.
• Ability to prepare budgets, schedules, and manpower projections.
• Proficient in Excel and Word with good written/verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Review construction docs, bid forms, and scope of work.
• Solicit subcontractor and vendor quotes for all scopes.
• Distribute plans to subcontractors and track Addenda.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as required.
• Coordinate scope between in-house trades (steel, millwrights, etc.).
• Enter take-offs and pricing into bid summaries before deadlines.
• Assist in procurement on award and turnover meetings.
