Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Structural Engineer to join our collaborative team for industrial projects with opportunities in commercial, institutional, and retrofit work. You will design structural systems, perform analysis, and develop practical, constructible solutions with direct client interaction.

This role offers hands-on involvement from design through construction, mentorship from experienced engineers, and exposure to a broad portfolio of projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis or related discipline.
• EIT, PE, or SE certification required or preferred.
• Experience in structural design and analysis.
• Strong understanding of steel, concrete, masonry, and wood structural systems.
• Ability to work effectively in a team‑oriented environment.
• Strong communication and problem‑solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Design structural systems for industrial, commercial, and institutional facilities.
• Calculate structural loads and select appropriate structural members.
• Design shallow and deep foundations, slab reinforcement, retaining structures, underground vaults, and tunnels.
• Develop custom structural details and connections for field conditions.
• Prepare calculations, drawings, and technical documentation.
• Verify field conditions and ensure practical, constructible designs.
• Support construction by addressing RFIs and field issues.
• Review building codes and design standards.
• Redline and review Revit drawings for accuracy.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and clients.
