Job summary

Whirlwind Steel Buildings and Components is seeking a skilled Spray Painter to apply primers and finishing coats to machinery and finished products. You will prep surfaces, mix coatings, and operate spray equipment safely in a fast-paced metal fabrication environment.

This full-time role requires a high school diploma or GED, experience with overhead cranes and forklifts, and the ability to pass a pulmonary fit test. You’ll join a team committed to quality, safety, and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience operating overhead cranes and forklifts essential.
• Must pass a pulmonary fit test.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Familiarity with industrial painting techniques and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Clean surfaces by removing grease, dirt, and other contaminants using solvents and soap.
• Select and mix coating liquids to match colors and specs.
• Operate spray equipment by adjusting spray guns, hoses, and nozzles for optimal coverage.
• Apply primers and finishing coats to achieve even finishes and quality results.
• Remove rust from metal surfaces with grinders or brushes as needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times.
• Operate overhead cranes and monorail paint hoists to position items for painting.
