Job summary

Astec is seeking an Industrial Painter to apply coatings on metal surfaces and industrial equipment. You will prepare surfaces, mix paints, and operate spray booths and spray guns to apply primers and finishes in a manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities include aligning with safety standards, inspecting finished work, labeling materials, and maintaining spray equipment. A high school diploma and 2+ years of spray coating experience are required, with forklift/ crane experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years of previous experience in spray coating application, in an industrial manufacturing production environment or at least one year as a Painter 1
• Must be detail oriented, good workmanship while taking and following direction with little to no supervision.
• Demonstrated track record of working cross-functionally and as a team necessary.
• Strong problem-solving skills desired.
• Must be able to operate paint spray equipment, mixing equipment, booth equipment, work from ladders, lifts, etc. to properly apply various paints and coatings to industrial products.
• Forklift and overhead crane experience required
• Ability to read and interpret a tape measure, engineering drawings, and bills of material (BOM's)

Responsibilities

• Operate paint sprayer or other equipment industrial paint on metals or products.
• Monitor work to ensure desired results.
• Ensure that all materials are labeled accurately.
• Clean, sand /grind and prepare equipment surface for painting.
• Inspect all products to ensure that the end results follow Astec’s guidelines.
• Attend weekly department safety meeting
