Job summary

OTC Industrial Technologies is seeking an Applications Engineer to bridge engineering design and customer needs. You will analyze specifications, propose configurations, and collaborate with sales and service teams to deliver tailored solutions.

The role includes generating quotes, processing orders, and providing technical support before and after sale. You will read drawings, interpret BOMs, and stay current with industry trends while interacting with customers, suppliers, and internal

Qualifications

• Experience in industrial equipment sales and procurement.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, business administration, project management, or a related field.
• Experience sizing and selecting rotating equipment (pumps and motors).
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints/engineering drawings.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, thermodynamics, materials science, and manufacturing processes.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Detail oriented with ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Experience in a customer-facing technical role.

Responsibilities

• Receive customer inquiries about new equipment or service of existing equipment.
• Analyze customer specifications and propose suitable product configurations and modifications.
• Collaborate with sales and service teams to understand customer needs and develop tailored equipment or service solutions.
• Generate quotes via CRM or ERP and manage electronic quote and order files.
• Enter and process customer purchase orders, acting as a liaison between the manufacturer / supplier and the customer.
• Review and interpret technical documentation, including CAD drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), and application data.
• Provide technical support to customers during pre-sale and post-sale stages, including on-site visits if required.
• Communicate complex technical information clearly and effectively to internal and external stakeholders.
• Stay up to date on industry trends, standards, and emerging technologies.
• Other duties as assigned.
