Job summary

Grace, a leading chemical company, is seeking a Shipping Coordinator to manage daily inbound and outbound plant logistics at our Columbia, MD site. You will collaborate with operations, production, procurement and customer service to ensure inventory accuracy and on-schedule deliveries.

Responsibilities include ensuring DOT/hazmat compliance, processing shipping documents in SAP, coordinating dock scheduling, and tracking shipments across truck, rail, and barge as applicable.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1+ years of shipping, receiving or logistics experience in industrial manufacturing or chemical plant.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office for tracking inventory and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with DOT, hazmat and site shipping regulations.
• Verify shipping documents for regulated materials.
• Coordinate and manage all shipping and receiving activities across multiple modes (truck, rail, barge where applicable).
• Input shipment details into SAP and maintain data integrity.
• Communicate with carriers and internal teams to ensure on-time deliveries.
• Monitor inventory levels and support cycle counts and inventory adjustments.
• Assist with audits and regulatory reporting and maintain organized logistics records.
