Industrial Shipping and Receiving Manager

This individual will oversee the daily operations of a warehouse, supervising staff, managing inventory, and handling all incoming and outgoing shipments. Key responsibilities include coordinating logistics, ensuring accurate record-keeping, maintaining safety protocols, and managing relationships with vendors and carriers. This role requires strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills to ensure efficient, safe, and cost-effective warehouse operations.

Job Responsibilities

• Train, and schedule warehouse personnel. Supervise and guide staff to ensure tasks are completed accurately and efficiently.
• Oversee all incoming and outgoing shipments, including unloading, sorting, and proper placement of goods. Track shipments and maintain accurate documentation for all deliveries and receipts.
• Take inventory of stock and maintain accurate records of inventory levels. Ensure adequate stock is available and coordinate with other departments or procurement teams.
• Determine shipping priorities, methods, and routes. Inspect loading operations and ensure compliance with shipping specifications.
• Communicate with vendors and carriers to ensure timely delivery and negotiate contracts and transportation costs.
• Enforce safety protocols and ensure the warehouse environment is clean, safe, and organized. Inspect equipment and report maintenance issues.
• Prepare and present reports on shipping and receiving activities, efficiency, and costs to senior management.

Qualifications
