Cardinal Staffing Services in Southgate, MI seeks an Industrial Sewer to operate heavy-duty sewing machines, assemble tarps, and support production on the 1st shift (Mon-Fri, 7:00 AM-3:30 PM).

Ideal candidates have experience with industrial fabrics, good manual dexterity, and the ability to read work orders, measure materials, and maintain a safe, organized workstation; dependable attendance and teamwork are essential.

Qualificações

• Previous industrial sewing experience preferred.
• Experience with heavy-duty fabrics, vinyl, canvas, or similar materials is a plus.
• Ability to operate industrial sewing machines safely and efficiently.
• Strong measuring skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
• Ability to stand or sit for extended periods and handle large or heavy materials.

Responsabilidades

• Operate industrial sewing machines to stitch and assemble heavy-duty tarps and industrial fabric materials.
• Measure, cut, align, and position materials according to specifications.
• Sew straight seams, reinforced edges, hems, and other required stitching patterns.
• Inspect finished products for accuracy, quality, and workmanship.
• Read and follow work orders, measurements, and production instructions.
• Perform basic machine adjustments, including changing needles and thread.
• Identify sewing defects and make necessary corrections.
• Meet daily production goals while maintaining quality standards.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workstation.
• Assist with additional general labor and production duties as needed.

Location: Southgate, MI Position: Industrial Sewer / Industrial Sewing Machine Operator Shift: 1st Shift | Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-3:30 PM Pay Rate: $18

Position Overview

Cardinal Staffing is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Industrial Sewer for our client in Southgate, MI. This position involves operating industrial sewing machines to manufacture, assemble, and repair heavy-duty tarps and other industrial fabric products. The ideal candidate will have experience with industrial sewing equipment, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Operate industrial sewing machines to stitch and assemble heavy-duty tarps and industrial fabric materials.
• Measure, cut, align, and position materials according to specifications.
• Sew straight seams, reinforced edges, hems, and other required stitching patterns.
• Inspect finished products for accuracy, quality, and workmanship.
• Read and follow work orders, measurements, and production instructions.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds, with assistance when necessary.
• Frequent use of hands and arms to guide and position materials.
• Ability to bend, reach, stand, and perform repetitive movements throughout the shift.
• Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, dependable, and comfortable working with industrial equipment. Previous experience in upholstery, automotive seating, canvas fabrication, industrial textiles, or tarp manufacturing would be beneficial.
