Job summary

Baker Hughes is seeking a Service Project Manager to drive successful delivery of customer projects from OTR handoff through warranty. You will act as the main customer interface, coordinate cross-functional teams, and oversee contract fulfillment, financials, and risk management to ensure satisfaction and business success.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, industrial project management exposure, strong communication skills, and the ability to lead in a matrix

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
• High School Diploma/GED with 2+ years of experience in Project Management, Operational, or Field Service.
• Experience managing projects in an industrial environment.
• Strong customer relationship management and stakeholder engagement experience.
• Financial management experience: budgeting, cost control, invoicing, and collections.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Influential leadership within a matrix organization; proactive with urgency and accountability.
• Ability to adapt to changing business and customer requirements; risk management and quality control experience.
• Gearbox industry experience; financial acumen and ERP knowledge (Oracle advantageous).

Responsibilities

• Serving as the primary customer contact, resolving issues, providing updates, and ensuring satisfaction.
• Managing contract fulfillment and project execution from OTR handoff through warranty completion.
• Handling and reporting all project financials: budgets, costs, margins, invoicing, and collections.
• Identifying, assessing, and mitigating project risks with action plans.
• Overseeing deliverables, contract changes, margins, and project closeout activities.
• Ensuring on-time delivery per contract requirements and customer expectations.
• Translating customer orders into clear project requirements for extended teams.
• Responding to technical and commercial inquiries from customers and stakeholders.
• Coordinating non-conformances resolution and ensuring quality compliance.
• Collaborating with customers and cross-functional teams for seamless execution.
• Monitoring milestones, risks, and priorities to meet business goals.
• Supporting customer requirements via site visits and project reviews; occasional after-hours support.
