Qualifications

• BS in Occupational Safety, Industrial Health, Ergonomics or Engineering; OR AS plus 2 years related safety experience.
• 5+ years in Industrial Safety, Ergonomics, or Industrial Hygiene.
• 3+ years in project management (preferred).
• 3+ years automotive/manufacturing experience (preferred).
• ASP- Associate Safety Professional, OR GSP-Graduation Safety Professional, OR SMS- Safety Management Specialist, OR OSHA Safety & Health Fundamentals Certificate. Certified Professional Ergonomist (preferred) Certified Safety Professional (preferred) Certified Industrial Hygienist (preferred)
• 5+ years of MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, Access).
• 5+ years of professional communication skills (verbal, written, presentation).
• 5+ years of knowledge in OSHA general industry standards.
• 5+ years of knowledge of anthropometric data use.
• 3+ years of skills in managing industrial hygiene topics.
• 2+ years of knowledge in performing ergonomics force measurements.
• 1+ years of knowledge of controls, safety devices, and systems.
• Basic ability to train groups effectively.
• Basic knowledge of ergonomic analysis, best practice, and principle

Responsibilities

• Lead safety and ergonomics programs for designated technology and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Steer department safety during launch and series involvement; provide technical safety expertise.
• Lead data analysis for safety-related problem solving and root-cause investigations.
• Coordinate safety with bid packages, product development, and new equipment installations.
• Train department Safety Associates and lead safety orientation and classes.
• Identify and manage projects to achieve safety targets and report on progress to management.
• Develop and implement safety trainings and communications as required.
• Assess risk of new technology, automation, process changes, and machinery safety controls.
• Collaborate with line builders and planners to review drawings and 3D renderings for safety incorporation.
