Job summary

Billerud NA in Quinnesec, MI is offering an Industrial Safety Engineering Co-Op. This full-time paid program lasts 7–8 months and provides hands-on experience in safety protocols, process support, and mill operations alongside a safety team.

You will design, develop, configure, and support safety protocols and reporting, interact with teammates and business users, and aim to transition into a full-time engineering role.

Qualifications

• Engineering student with interest in pulp, paper and packaging.
• GPA of 2.75 or higher and completion of three college semesters prior to start date.
• Eligible to work permanently in the United States (not on a student visa).

Responsibilities

• Provide safety expertise to support mill operations.
• Work on projects improving equipment reliability and reducing costs.
• Assist with machine shutdowns and start-ups.
• Monitor, assess, analyze, and optimize process equipment.
• Monitor equipment variability and reduce environmental impact.
• Provide technical support for key departments.
• Utilize problem solving and analytical skills to achieve initiatives.
