Job summary

Gulf Copper in Galveston, TX seeks an experienced industrial/marine rigger to assemble and rig loads, attach gear to overhead structures, and guide hoisting operations to protect workers and materials. You will fabricate and repair rigging, inspect equipment, and ensure safe, compliant performance in open-air work areas.

Qualifications include 3–5 years of rigging experience, NCCCO/NCCER preferred, and certified rigger options.

Qualifications

• Industrial or marine rigging experience.
• 3–5 years for 1st Class; 1–3 years for 2nd Class.
• NCCCO or NCCER preferred; Rigger Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Select gear such as cables, pulleys and winches based on load weights and sizes.
• Attach loads to rigging to provide support or prepare for moving.
• Attach pulleys/blocks to overhead structures using bolts and clamps.
• Install ground rigging for yarding lines and attach chokers to logs.
• Direct workers during hoisting to ensure safety of people and materials.
• Control movement of heavy equipment through confined spaces using rigging lines and hoists.
• Fabricate, setup, and repair rigging, supporting structures, hoists, and pulling gear.
• Inspect and dress machine surfaces and components.
• Dismantle and store rigging equipment after use.
• Perform visual inspections and test rigging before use.
