Job Details

We are seeking Refrigeration Maintenance Technician for 1st Shift. Pay will vary based on experience level, and there is a shift increase for second and third shift with potential for overtime.

General Job Description: Perform skilled work in the operation, predictive and preventative maintenance, and repair of the facility’s real property, power industrial trucks, and plant facility systems. Operate and maintain the ammonia refrigeration system.

Tasks

• Able to perform electrical and mechanical preventative and predictive maintenance as tasked.
• Able to complete daily log sheets, communicate effectively, and be proactive in recognizing and reporting unsafe conditions and other mechanical concerns.
• Be proactive in the daily plant operations to ensure maximum plant efficiencies and product quality and capacity.
• Assist in maintaining a relevant and accurate mechanical inventory.
• Must support the company personnel and food safety programs, policies and procedures, and contract employee programs.
• Follows all company personnel safety, food safety, attendance, GMP policies. Basic mechanical knowledge and ability to include lubrication power train & bearing maintenance, motor and gearbox replacement, fork truck & pallet jack maintenance.
• Able to use measurement devices.
• Knowledge of refrigeration experience, certifications preferred. Industrial maintenance experience.
• Boiler, ammonia and HVAC experience.
• Required basic electrical troubleshooting experience including troubleshooting electrical circuits.
• Ability to work overtime and weekends.

FOR ALL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule if needed in a cold, wet, humid environment with temperatures ranging from 35 to 50 degrees.
• Must be willing and able to stand, sit and use hands and fingers to handle or feel 67-100% of the time.
• Must be willing and able to walk, talk and hear 67-100% of the time.
• Must be willing and able to bend, squat and kneel 33-67% of the time.
• Must be willing and able to taste or smell 0-33% of the time.
• Must be willing and able to ascend and descend stairs 67-100% of the time.
• Must be willing and able to lift and/or move up to 45 lbs. 67-100% of the time, 50 lbs. 33-67% of the time and 100 lbs. 0-33% of the time.
• Must be willing and able to push/pull 300 lbs. 33-67% of the time.

Requirements

Must have a minimum of 6 months of mechanic work experience documented in the work history section of the application or a graduate of an industrial maintenance training program, HVAC/R program OR demonstrate completion of CIRO.CARO certification or within relative field. If they do not have the training, their work experience does need to include a minimum of 6 months experience within an ammonia system.
