VEIR, a leading designer and manufacturer of superconducting power delivery systems, seeks a Technical Writer for a 6-month contract to own customer-facing documentation. You will produce installation manuals, O&M manuals, commissioning procedures, and supporting specs, working with engineering, field service, and product teams to ensure accuracy and clarity.

This role requires 4+ years of technical writing experience in hardware, with a portfolio of large documents and strong ability to read

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional technical writing experience in hardware/industrial space.
• Experience reading engineering source material (CAD, P&IDs, schematics, BOMs).
• Ability to write safety-critical procedures with clear hazard messaging (ANSI Z535, NFPA 70E).
• Portfolio of installation manuals, O&M manuals, commissioning/test procedures, and technical specs.

Responsabilités

• Own end-to-end authoring of field product documents (Installation & O&M Manuals).
• Write and maintain functional specifications, control philosophy, and sequence of operation docs.
• Assemble data center submittal packages and contribute to datasheets, guides, and training materials.
• Interview SMEs and work from engineering source material to produce procedures.
• Write task-based procedures for installers and technicians handling high-voltage, cryogenic, and control panels.
• Partner with Engineering and Product Marketing for visuals and labeling accuracy.
• Run structured review cycles with stakeholders and manage version control.
• Create templates and a style guide to scale documentation across products/sites.
• Manage multiple large documents to meet deployment milestones.
