Job summary

Covanta is hiring a Back Plant Operator to ensure safe, efficient operations of our industrial disposal processes. You will conduct inspections, operate heavy equipment, and follow lock-out/tag-out procedures.

The ideal candidate has a High School Diploma, valid driver's license, and experience with heavy industrial equipment, with the ability to work rotating shifts. Day one benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Must have experience operating heavy industrial equipment.
• Must be able to work a rotating shift schedule.
• Valid driver's license is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform assigned operational tasks and inspections utilizing various types of designated industrial equipment and hand/power tools
• Complete routine inspections of assigned equipment and document details in accordance with facility procedures
• Troubleshoot assigned equipment and report issues using defined work order processes and procedures
• Utilize weekly activity books and critical items checklist to perform operational and equipment related function checks
• Safely perform lock-out/tag-out processes of equipment in support of assigned maintenance teams
• Additional duties as assigned
