Job summary

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• 3-5 years related experience in an industrial environment.

• Hearing, seeing (acuity, near, far, and depth), talking, sitting, standing, walking, lifting (up to 50 lbs.), carrying, pushing, pulling (up to 50 lbs.), climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling, fingering, feeling, and wearing personal protective equipment.

• Ability as needed to work on both scheduled and call-out basis, and the ability to work at the assigned job site.
• Willing to work shift work and assist in other areas of the department or site as needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor equipment across the site, including furnace, briquetting, water treatment, and loading/unloading.
• Interact with control room, maintenance, engineering, and contractors to ensure safe, efficient operations.
• Identify upset conditions, determine cause, and take corrective action.
• Troubleshoot operating irregularities and relay details to control room and supervisors.
• Collect process and cargo samples for laboratory analysis.
• Perform safe isolation of equipment to enable maintenance work.
• Perform minor maintenance such as replacing components and lubricating equipment.
• Assist Mechanical and Electrical maintenance personnel as needed.
• Record data, follow procedures, and provide timely feedback of field conditions to control room.
• Provide turnover information to oncoming crew members.
• Other duties as assigned.
