Job summary

Reworld is seeking an Auxiliary Operator in Huntsville, AL to support the control room and operate power plant systems safely and efficiently within our waste-to-energy operations.

You will monitor and inspect boilers and auxiliary equipment, read meters and gauges, perform sampling and chemistry testing, operate heavy equipment, and help maintain proper refuse-fuel levels to keep the disposal process running smoothly.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 2-3 years’ experience operating a boiler, heavy industrial equipment, some maintenance.
• Experience with chemistry testing is a plus.
• Must be able to work a rotating shift schedule.

Responsibilities

• Operate and inspect power plant systems in safety procedures; systems include boilers, air pollution control, ash systems, and heavy equipment.
• Monitor and inspect boiler plant auxiliary equipment: pumps, motors, fans, dampers, air compressors, valves, mixers, conveyors, turbine generators and electrical devices.
• Read and interpret data from meters, gauges, and industrial measuring tools to identify trends or disruptions affecting operations.
• Monitor air pollution control equipment.
• Perform material sampling, chemistry testing, and water treatment as required.
• Safely operate heavy industrial mobile equipment (cranes, skid steers, loaders, forklifts).
• Maintain correct refuse-fuel levels and appropriate refuse mix in designated pits.
• Take on additional duties to ensure safe and efficient operations.
