Placements24 is seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer specializing in Industrial Plants to join the operations team in Queenstown, Eastern Cape. The role focuses on maintaining and improving the mechanical infrastructure of our industrial facilities, including design, installation, and maintenance of plant machinery.

You will troubleshoot complex issues, optimize equipment reliability and efficiency, and ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 3-5 years of experience with industrial plant mechanical systems.
• Knowledge of P&IDs and mechanical drawings.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities.
• Clear communication within a team.

Responsibilities

• Design, specify, and install mechanical equipment and systems for industrial plant operations.
• Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of plant machinery, identifying and rectifying potential issues.
• Develop and implement strategies for improving equipment efficiency, reliability, and lifespan.
• Troubleshoot mechanical failures, diagnose root causes, and implement effective repair solutions.
• Ensure all mechanical installations and operations comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to support plant activities and minimize downtime.
