Job summary

Stratus Team, LLC in Bellingham, WA is seeking a Plant Design Engineering Intern to support engineers on industrial layouts, equipment arrangements, and piping systems. You will gain hands-on exposure to design tools, project documentation, field conditions, and multidisciplinary coordination.

You will participate in meetings, model reviews, and site visits, learning how plant design principles are applied and how constructability and field conditions are evaluated.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in Mechanical, Industrial, Civil Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
• Completion of relevant engineering, drafting, design, manufacturing, or technical coursework.
• Basic understanding of industrial facilities, equipment, piping, or three-dimensional design concepts.
• Basic proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, Plant 3D, or similar design software and Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Assist with plant layouts, equipment arrangements, piping drawings, models, reports, and other project documentation.
• Support three-dimensional design and coordination of equipment, piping, access, maintenance, and facility systems.
• Participate in project meetings, model reviews, site visits, field observations, and collaboration across engineering disciplines.
