Job summary

Mariana Minerals seeks a Piping Design Engineer to reinvent piping design using AutoCAD Plant 3D and allied CAD tools. You will build 3D models, draft PFDs/Smart P&IDs, and drive automation of repetitive tasks across multi-disciplinary teams.

You will push for data-driven design, develop scripts, and integrate P&ID data with procurement quantities. New graduates welcome, with a focus on engineering robust plant systems.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field; new graduates welcome.
• Real 3D CAD modeling experience with industry-standard tools.
• Ability to reason from first principles about geometry, loads, and flow.
• Demonstrated automation instinct: scripting repetitive tasks.
• Willingness to learn AI coding tools and ship usable tooling quickly.
• Clear and precise technical writing for workflows and documentation.
• Experience or interest in plant design software and integration with data systems.

Responsibilities

• Build the 3D model: layout, routing, supports, and isometrics in CAD tools.
• Draft process docs: PFDs, smart P&IDs, and template setup.
• Carry lines from P&ID to IFC with correct specs and isometric output.
• Produce quantities: Bills of Materials from the model.
• Lead multidiscipline reviews including process, mechanical, and electrical.
• Identify repetitive tasks and advocate automation solutions.
• Script repetitive work and ensure reproducibility via version control.
• Develop AI-assisted workflows to accelerate design and validation.
• Link P&ID data to line lists and procurement quantities across systems.
