Job summary

Merck & Co., Inc. is seeking a seasoned Pipefitter/Plumber to install, maintain and repair industrial piping systems in a major pharmaceutical facility.

You will read blueprints, work from CMMS orders, and perform precise fabrications and installations to support steam, gas, water and process materials. Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a formal pipefitter/plumber apprentice program approved by the U.S. Department of Labor.
• Graduate of a recognized pipefitter/plumber trade school with related subjects.
• Military training equivalent to a recognized trade program is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Installs, lays out, bends, cuts, threads and joins pipe and fittings to withstand various pressures.
• Maintains drainage, waste and vent systems.
• Inspects pressure and vacuum gauges and performs repairs as directed.
• Works from blueprints, CMMS work orders, and manufacturer manuals.
• Participates in safety and Kaizen initiatives as required.
• Assists in scheduling, labor estimates, and parts procurement.
