Job summary

Merck is seeking a skilled Pipefitter to perform journey-level work in fabricating and repairing piping systems and components in an industrial setting at Rahway, NJ. You will install, repair, alter and troubleshoot piping systems and related equipment, with ownership of the systems serviced and a focus on quality results.

The role requires a minimum of 5 years apprenticeship or equivalent experience, with ability to read P&IDs and isometrics, and familiarity with codes.

Qualifications

• 5 years apprenticeship / equivalent experience in pipefitting in an industrial environment.
• Ability to read P&IDs and isometric drawings; read and interpret plumbing schematics.

Responsibilities

• Lay out and fabricate piping systems from sketches, P&IDs, isometrics or verbal instructions.
• Install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair piping components and equipment.
• Rig piping, valves and components safely; operate hand/power tools and test instruments.
• Follow safety rules to maintain a safe work environment and site safety culture.
• Perform other duties, including work of other trades as required.
