Thorpe Specialty Services Corporation in Maryland seeks a Pipefitter - welder to layout, assemble, install, weld, fabricate, and repair piping systems in industrial settings. You will interpret drawings, cut and fit pipes, and ensure safety and quality per industry standards.

You will read blueprints and P&IDs, weld with SMAW/TIG/MIG, install carbon steel, stainless, and other materials, and coordinate with other trades.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of industrial pipefitting experience in heavy industrial or petrochemical environments.
• 2+ years of welding experience in industrial/construction settings.
• Proficiency with SMAW, TIG, and MIG welding techniques.
• Welding certifications preferred or ability to pass company tests.
• Experience with various piping materials and joining techniques (welding, flanging, threading, braising, soldering).
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Familiarity with OSHA standards and industrial safety practices.
• Experience with VRF systems (preferred).
• Experience with hydronic, steam, refrigeration piping processes and equipment.
• NCCER Pipefitter Certification or equivalent (preferred).

Responsabilités

• Read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, P&IDs, and specifications for layout and procedures.
• Measure, cut, thread, bend, and weld pipes using tools and equipment.
• Install, modify, and repair piping systems (carbon steel, stainless, alloy, non-metallic).
• Select materials, supports and joining methods per specs.
• Coordinate installation with scaffolders, insulators, and corrosion techs.
• Perform pressure and leak testing and inspections of piping systems.
• Follow safety policies, PPE use, fall protection, confined space, and hot work rules.
• Assist with rigging and lifting of pipe and materials.
• Document work completed, material usage, and deviations.
• Load, transport and unload materials, tools, and equipment.
• Secure pipe to structures with brackets and hangers.
• Assemble and install metal/nonmetal pipes with appropriate joints.
• Support additional industrial services as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
