Job summary

The Pipefitter position with Thorpe Specialty Services Corporation in Nipton, CA requires hands-on layout, assembly, installation, and maintenance of piping systems in industrial settings. You will interpret drawings, select materials, and collaborate with other trades to meet safety and quality standards.

We seek candidates with 4+ years in heavy industrial environments, welding experience, and familiarity with various piping materials.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of industrial pipefitting experience in heavy industrial or petrochemical environments.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Familiarity with OSHA safety practices and industrial safety standards.
• Experience with VRF systems and hydronic/refrigeration piping processes.
• NCCER Pipefitter Certification or equivalent is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, isometrics, P&IDs, and specs to plan piping layout.
• Measure, cut, thread, bend, and weld pipes using hand tools and machines.
• Install and repair various piping types including carbon steel and stainless.
• Coordinate with scaffolders, insulators, and corrosion technicians.
• Perform pressure and leak testing and inspections of piping systems.
• Follow safety policies, PPE use, fall protection, and hot work procedures.
• Assist with rigging and lifting pipe and materials using cranes.
• Document work, material usage, and deviations from plan.
• Load, transport and unload materials and tools.
• Secure pipe with brackets and hangers using hand/power tools.
• Assemble pipe fittings with threaded joints, soldering, brazing, cementing.
• Support refractory, corrosion, rubber lining work as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
