Job summary

Varda Space Industries in El Segundo, CA seeks an Industrial and Personnel Security Manager to lead day-to-day industrial security compliance and personnel security programs. You will build practical processes and work with HR, IT, Legal, Engineering, Mission Management, and Business Development from early engagement through launch and recovery.

You will report to the Director of Security and may serve as Alternate FSO after training.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of industrial security experience in a DoD/IC contractor environment.
• Experience administering clearance actions, reporting, training, classified information controls, and inspection preparation.
• Strong knowledge of 32 CFR Part 117 (NISPOM) and DD Form 254; translate requirements into procedures.
• Hands-on proficiency with DISS/NBIS/NISS and customer systems.
• Strong written communication; able to brief employees, executives, and government representatives.
• Independent work style with ability to build repeatable security processes.

Responsibilities

• Run the industrial security program per NISPOM and DoD requirements.
• Manage facility clearance records and government correspondence for FSO review.
• Lead annual self-inspections and track corrective actions.
• Coordinate security reviews with the FSO and external partners.
• Translate security requirements into contracts, subcontracts, and proposals.
• Control classified information from marking to destruction under authorized workflows.
• Develop procedures, training materials, and records; drive compliance improvements.
• Manage clearance processing in DISS/NBIS/NISS and related systems.
• Coordinate SCI nominations and polygraph scheduling when applicable.
• Onboard/offboard cleared employees with HR; maintain briefing attestations.
• Forecast clearance needs with hiring and program teams; track status metrics.
