Job summary

Avantor seeks an Industrial Security Director to oversee our security programs and lead the team that supports our high-performance silicones business serving Aerospace & Defense industries. Based in Carpinteria, CA, this role reports to executive leadership and requires active DoD TS/SCI clearance.

The ideal candidate will implement security programs, mentor staff, and ensure compliance with NISPOM, DFARS, and NIST standards while collaborating with customers and internal partners.

Qualifications

• Must have detailed working knowledge of NISPOM / 32 CFR Part 117 and related standards.
• U.S. citizen with active DoD TS/SCI clearance required.
• Proven ability to lead security programs and collaborate with executives and external partners.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement security policies, standards, and guidelines aligned with government requirements.
• Develop and guide program implementations to minimize security risks and losses.
• Advise executive leadership on risk mitigation and compliance matters.
• Interpret government security requirements and coordinate with customers and U.S. Government.
• Lead a team of security professionals to ensure consistent application of leadership standards.
