Job summary

Alamo Group is seeking a Paint Sprayer Operator in Sioux Falls, SD to coat components with spray equipment on a conveyor line or individual stands. You will prepare parts by masking and surface cleaning, load workpieces, and move materials to and from the paint area.

This role requires knowledge of paint characteristics, ability to operate spray systems, and the fitness to lift 50 pounds. Overtime and weekend shifts may be required to meet production schedules.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Six months to 1.5 years of related painting experience preferred.
• Ability to operate paint spray equipment.
• Knowledge of characteristics of paint.
• Knowledge of paint spray systems and equipment preferred.
• Must be able to pass a pulmonary and respirator test per OSHA guidelines.
• Color acuity.
• Ability to lift, push or pull 50 pounds alone.
• Able to climb ladders.
• Overtime and weekends as production schedules require.

Responsibilities

• Prepares components for paint including masking tape or plugs.
• Prepares surfaces prior to painting including cleaning with solvent or abrasives.
• Operates paint spray equipment and makes adjustments as needed.
• Loads workpieces on conveyor and moves materials to and from the area.
• May perform minor repairs and maintenance to equipment.
• May perform paint quality inspections (viscosity checks).
• Cleans spraying equipment with solvents and tools.
• Monitors and replaces paint filters as necessary.
• Cleans paint booth and general paint area.
• Required to operate a forklift and overhead hoist.
• Accurately records work order information and inventory transactions.
