Job summary

Machitech is seeking an Industrial Painter to prepare parts, mix paints, and apply finishes using spray equipment. You will handle parts with a forklift or overhead crane, organize the work area, and perform surface prep such as cleaning, sanding, and degreasing to ensure proper paint adhesion.

The role requires 2–3 years of industrial painting experience, a high school diploma, and the ability to work under pressure in hot, humid conditions while maintaining high accuracy and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Vocational diploma in painting, auto body repair, surface treatment, or industrial painting certificate (asset).
• Respirator certification (asset).
• WHMIS certification (asset).
• Overhead crane and forklift certification (asset).
• 2–3 years of relevant industrial painting experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and mix paint per established procedures and specifications.
• Handle painted/prepared parts using a forklift or overhead crane.
• Organize the work area.
• Clean, sand, and occasionally strip and degrease parts to properly prepare surfaces for painting.
• Paint parts and perform touch-ups as required.
• Inspect parts (paint thickness, finish quality, etc.).
• Complete quality control and production documentation.
• Monitor the inventory of equipment required for painting operations.
• Clean accessories and equipment using solvents.
• Wear personal protective equipment and comply with health and safety guidelines.
• Perform related tasks to support the team in completing departmental projects.
