Job Description

Job purpose: Prepare and paint industrial machines and structural steel according to specifications, mixing paint as required, using spray guns and other equipment to ensure high quality finish and appearance.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

• Set up and operate painting equipment, including but not limited to, airless pot and pressure pot, to coat products.
• Prepare and mix paint to meet customer specifications.
• Capable of reading and understanding technical documents.
• Utilizes different painting techniques and tools based on the nature of the surface and meeting customer profile specifications.
• Consistently produces quality work and increases efficiency level.
• Meets company productivity rates, and learn all aspects of job as required.
• Continually demonstrates a productive and non-disruptive work ethic.
• Follows all company safety rules and policies.
• Maintain company equipment and work areas in a clean and orderly manner.
• Take direction from shop foreman or management and be a self-starter when not working under direct supervision.
• Other work as directed by Shop Foreman or Management.

Mechanical aptitude – the ability to comply with instructions in written, oral, and schedule form is essential. Must be able to read and comprehend manuals, inspection checklists, operating and maintenance instructions, government regulations and other work-related information.

Physical fitness – must be able to hear coworkers, see up close and far away, perceive color and depth, and have the ability to focus. May be required to stand or walk on uneven ground and ascend and descend ladders and scaffolding and work in confined spaces, all of which requires stamina and endurance.

Interpersonal skills – the ability to clearly, professionally, and effectively communicate with management, shop foreman and coworkers.

Employees shall also be required to pass drug tests and certain health requirements for respirator use.
