ICON; Austin (TX); On-site; USD 120,000 - 150,000; Full time

Job summary

ICON is seeking a Network Engineer to own and harden the site environment for Titan’s robotics print suite in Austin, TX. You will design reliable network architectures, ensure OT/IT traffic coexist safely, and partner with engineering teams to deliver low-latency connectivity for live tests.

You’ll implement segmented networks, remote access with failover options, and proactive monitoring, then document topology and failure modes to scale with the test program.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in network engineering in industrial/lab/test environments
• Experience with OT/IT convergence and robotics traffic
• Ability to design reliable, segmented networks with redundancy
• Experience implementing remote access for distributed teams
• Strong documentation habits and playbook creation

Responsibilities

• Own the site network: switches, routers, cabling, and uplink for industrial controls, robotics telemetry, and IT traffic
• Design segmentation between OT/robotics and IT traffic to isolate machine control
• Build and maintain remote-access infrastructure with low-latency control and cellular/5G failover
• Stand up proactive monitoring and alerting to catch issues before tests are interrupted
• Collaborate with robotics, controls, and embedded software engineers to understand network needs (latency, loss, bandwidth)
• Document topology, failure modes, and recovery procedures; build scalable playbooks
• Serve as the go-to owner for network architecture decisions as the system grows
