Job summary

Aalo Atomics in Austin, TX is seeking a Network Engineer / Systems Support to design, implement, and maintain our network infrastructure, support endpoints, and provide IT assistance across the organization, including OT interfaces.

You will help ensure security, reliability, and performance, collaborate with vendors and internal teams, and contribute to scalable, secure IT operations in a fast‑growing clean‑energy startup.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in network engineering, systems support, IT infrastructure, or related roles.
• Working knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, VPNs, DNS, DHCP, and wireless networking.
• Experience providing technical support for end users, devices, and business systems.
• Strong troubleshooting, organizational, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic IT environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, maintain, and support local and wide area network infrastructure.
• Monitor network performance, availability, and capacity to ensure reliable operations.
• Troubleshoot network issues and perform root cause analysis for outages or performance concerns.
• Configure and support switches, routers, firewalls, wireless systems, and related network equipment.
• Provide help‑desk support for hardware, software, connectivity, and general technical issues.
• Support endpoint management, including device deployment, configuration, maintenance, patching, and troubleshooting.
• Maintain user accounts, system access, and related IT support functions as assigned.
• Support network security, segmentation, access controls, and general cybersecurity best practices.
• Assist with upgrades, migrations, patches, and infrastructure improvement projects.
• Maintain network and system documentation, diagrams, configurations, and standard procedures.
• Coordinate with IT teams, business stakeholders, vendors, and service providers as needed.
• Support network environments that interface with operational technology (OT) systems while maintaining appropriate security and segmentation controls.
