Qualifications

• Technical degree or Journeyman certificate in industrial maintenance.
• Experience in paper mill or other industrial manufacturing preferred.
• Good verbal and written communication skills and the ability to effectively deliver messages at all levels.
• Strong team player who can work with others to meet objectives and timelines.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and knowledge of mechanical motors, valves, automated valves, calibrations.
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment (noisy, dusty, hot or cold).
• Ability to work with plant personnel, engineering groups, and outside contractors.
• Ability to prioritize time and work.
• Use of self-initiative and independence to complete tasks with urgency and deadlines.
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on technical support to manufacturing operations for instrumentation and electrical control applications.
• Repair and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment per diagrams, manuals, and specifications.
• Observe equipment in operation to locate causes of trouble and diagnose issues by listening to sounds.
• Dismantle devices to access defective parts using hoists, cranes, and power tools.
• Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments.
• Repair and replace parts using hand and power tools.
• Install functional and structural parts in devices.
• Lubricate and clean parts and set up metalworking tools as needed.
