Job summary

Hussey Copper seeks a Mechanical Maintenance technician to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair plant mechanical equipment across rolling mills, furnaces, conveyors, pumps, and gearboxes. The position requires 3–5 years of millwright/industrial mechanic experience in heavy industrial settings, reading blueprints, and safe operation of cranes and forklifts.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; millwright training preferred.
• 3–5 years of millwright/industrial mechanic experience in heavy industry.
• Experience with rotating machinery, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
• Read mechanical drawings/blueprints; use hand/power tools and precision devices.
• Willingness to work overtime, weekends, holidays; union environment.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical equipment including rolling mills, furnaces, conveyors, pumps, and other rotating equipment.
• Inspect, diagnose, and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems and related components.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance per PM schedules.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, manuals, and schematics to support installation and repair.
• Safely rig, move, and position equipment; operate cranes, forklifts, and other material handling equipment.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and work orders.
• Collaborate with production, maintenance, and engineering to support safe operations.
