Job summary

Zachry Group is seeking a skilled Millwright to install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair machinery at a large Combined-Cycle Power Plant in Texas. You will work on HRSG components, turbines, generators and related equipment, following blueprints and manufacturer drawings.

The role requires 4–5 years in industrial construction/maintenance and 3+ years in power generation mills, with strong tooling and safety discipline. Expect to work physically demanding tasks and long shifts on-site.

Qualifications

• Must have experience with industrial machinery installation, repair and maintenance of Power Generation machines and equipment.
• Must know how to read blueprints, schematic drawings and engineering specifications and understand how to read and interpret technical manuals to determine work procedures.
• Must have experience using industrial hand tools and power tools.
• Must have all Journeyman Precision Millwright hand tools – see tool list attachment.
• Minimum 4-5 years industrial construction/maintenance experience.
• Minimum of 3 years Millwright experience in Power Generation Plants.
• Must have reliable transportation and be able to work 7 days as needed.

Responsibilities

• Plans, inspects, verifies and documents scope of work.
• Uses precision leveling and alignment tools to measure angles, material thickness and small distances.
• Assembles and installs equipment such as shafting, conveyors and tram rails.
• Dismantles machines using hammers, wrenches, crowbars and other hand tools.
• Operates engine lathes, grinders and files.
• Moves equipment using cranes, hoists, dollies, rollers and trucks.
• Conducts preventative maintenance such as lubrication and fixing or repairing worn parts.
