Job summary

Zachry Group is seeking an Industrial Mechanic to install, assemble, maintain and repair machinery at a power plant. You will read blueprints and manuals to choose procedures, use hand and power tools, and work with cranes and rigging to move assets.

A strong maintenance background and problem-solving skills are essential. You will plan and document the scope of work, replace worn parts, and ensure safety standards.

Qualifications

• Reads blueprints, schematics and manuals to determine procedures.
• 4–5 years industrial mechanical experience.
• Experience with industrial hand and power tools.
• Able to work 7 days as needed and with reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Install, assemble, dismantle, maintain and repair machinery at an industrial power plant.
• Plan, inspect, verify and document scope of work.
• Replace gaskets and other defective parts on machinery.
• Dismantle machines using hand tools.
• Assemble and install equipment such as shafting, conveyors and tram rails.
• Weld, bolt and fasten machinery to foundations or structures.
• Operate engine lathes, grinders and files.
• Fabricate and install parts by cutting, drilling or welding.
• Move equipment into position with cranes/hoists, using rigging as needed.
• Conduct preventative maintenance and lubrication.
