Job summary

Pacific Recycling, Inc. in Eugene, Oregon, is seeking an experienced Industrial Millwright to join our metal recycling shredder team.

This hands-on role installs, maintains, and repairs heavy equipment in an outdoor production setting, focusing on reliability and safe operation of a 4,000hp hammermill shredder and related conveyors. The ideal candidate will have journeyman millwright status, 5+ years in heavy industry, strong hydraulic and electrical controls expertise, and proficiency with CMMS

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a heavy industrial environment (metals, mining, recycling)
• Demonstrated expertise with hydraulic systems and ability to read hydraulic schematics
• Proficient with conveyors, shaft alignment, and precision mechanical fitting
• Working knowledge of electrical and controls systems; able to troubleshoot within lockout/tagout
• Comfortable using CMMS or similar systems for maintenance planning and parts management
• Strong project management skills with prioritization in fast-paced production environments

Responsibilities

• Install, align, repair, and overhaul heavy machinery including hammermill shredder and drive systems
• Maintain and troubleshoot hydraulic systems: cylinders, pumps, valves, piping
• Inspect and repair conveyors: belts, rollers, drives, take-ups
• Diagnose electrical/controls issues; coordinate with electricians/vendors
• Develop and execute planned maintenance schedules; document work orders and history
• Lead project planning for installations, upgrades, major overhauls, commissioning
• Identify deficiencies; implement reliability improvements
• Mentor apprentice millwrights and collaborate with operators on equipment care
